My first rave

Music pumping, bass thumping, people dressed up in costumes, and glow sticks waving in the air – that was the scene Friday night at my school’s rave. School officials actually called it a Storybook Ball, but us kids preferred to call it a rave. We were suppose to wear a costume from a book and I wasn’t going to go, but at the last minute I decided to go so daddy had to dig up last year’s Batman costume because my costume this year isn’t from a book. I’m glad I decided to go because I had a blast and got to get my groove on.
I’m the blue and grey Batman in the middle of the pack. You can see me real well about 30 seconds into the video.

‘Cause Baby, You’re a Firework

Just like Katy Perry sings – I am a firework, but this week was about the 4th of July and not just me. For the holiday, I went with my folks to my uncle David’s lake house for our Cousins Retreat 2012 and had a blast. I got to spend a lot of time with cousins I don’t get to see very often – not that I talked to them, I just got to spend time with them.

We spent a lot of time at the lake – they have a beach where all the boats park and we get out and play in the water. I also got to drive the Sea Doo – this time it didn’t break down on us. And when I say I got to drive, I mean I actually pressed the gas and steered us. Daddy said I did awesome, but that I may want to hold off on going so fast just yet. That was definitely the highlight of the water fun for me.

Later that night we were able to see the fireworks show at the lake and also fire off some of our very own. The video below is some of our work.

Classic P – if I don’t know you, I don’t like you taking my picture

’twas the days after Christmas

I haven’t had time to write because I’ve been so busy with seeing family, enjoying the season, and PLAYING WITH ALL MY PRESENTS! Santa is either a forgiving soul or he doesn’t do a lot of research when determining who has been naughty or nice. I mean I was like 90% nice and all, but I did have my moments of shall we say less than nice. But Santa sure did treat me good. Bicycles, dinosaurs, super heroes, AND a pretty little kitty. I was totally hoping I would get a kitty and Santa came through for me. I know what you’re probably thinking – I should have asked for a pony. If I had known it was going to be that easy, I probably would have. There are still more Christmases in my future so I need to practice saying giddy-up!

On a somewhat sad note, I had to say goodbye to Buddy – my elf on the shelf. Santa said that he would check in on me from time to time to say hi and see how I’m doing. I sure was hoping he could stick around forever because I really liked trying to find him every morning.

On a serious note, I do know that there is a bigger meaning to Christmas and in that I believe and am grateful.

Happy Holidays to all and stay tuned for my annual Christmas video coming soon.

Before

After

Patches, mommy, and me

All aboard!

I got to ride on my first real train the other night on the North Pole Express. Mommy, daddy, and I went to the North Pole on the train. It was kind of strange that we had to go to Grapevine first, but I guess every train has to start somewhere. Anyway, Grapevine fancies itself as the Christmas Capital of Texas. And their claim is pretty legit – the whole downtown strip is decorated nicely and they have a place by the train that you can “ice” skate, get hot chocolate, and ornaments. The funny thing is that I wore my pajamas when I went there because the kids were suppose to wear them. That sounded cool to start, but it sure was cold – still a silly good time.

On the train we had someone singing Christmas songs the whole time – she was kind of silly. When we finally got to the North Pole, Santa came on board. The whole train went wild when they saw him – I mean Justin Bieber doesn’t have anything on this old classic. So Santa came on the train and wished everyone a Merry Christmas and then he went from kid to kid giving them a very special gift. I wasn’t quite sure what the gift was, but I know I wasn’t about to pass it up even though I don’t like getting my picture taken with Santa. This time I had to give a little on that one. So when he came to me, he extended his hand with a very special bell and I reached out and grabbed it from him (nicely, of course) – that was such magical moment. I mean last time I was that close to Santa was when I was 2 and I was screaming to get out of his death grip.

The bell is a special bell because whenever I ring it and angel gets its wings. I’ve been ringing it a lot so you’re welcome angels – just remember that and make sure you look after me a just a little more than usual…..Parker’s Angels has a ring to it, don’t you think?

Big ornaments - that's how we do in Texas y'all!

It started snowing on the way to the train

I think I saw him

There he is!!

Santa...Mr. Claus if you're Naughty

How sweet do I look???

Have I been Nice or Nice?

When people ask me if I’ve been Naughty or Nice what do they think I’ll say? I mean they’re asking me to rat myself out. And my parents will say I’m always a good boy. Like they’re going to admit to raising a kid that has been naughty all the time. This is actually a win/win situation for me. Anyway, the truth of the matter is that I’ve been great. Sure I’ve had my moments, but who hasn’t – stone…..glass houses….anyone?

Believe but you will, but I’m still getting PAID! I’ve been able to open gifts from Santa for my advent calendar every day! That has to say something about me, right? Although the question was asked by Grannie as to what I would have to do to be considered naughty enough to not get my daily gift. I’ve gotten pretty close to not getting my gift, but haven’t quite gotten there just yet. The trick is to always throw in the ‘ol “I love you so much (insert name).” And for those particularly hard-to-melt hearts I throw in the biggest hug ever. I’ve never had to go any further than that because they are always putty in my hands by then.

I’ll get back to you later to tell you whether I’ve been “naughty” or nice 😉

Here’s a buddy update.

Santa has trust issues

What happened to the good ol’ days when a boy could tell Santa he had been nice and Santa bought it trusted him? All I know is one day my home was a place where I could be my “angelic” self in private, the next day I have an elf standing guard. Elf on the Shelf just showed up one day and my life hasn’t been the same since. I mean, I’m excited to meet a real elf, but a little creeped out by the fact he is always smiling and doesn’t seem to blink.

He said his name was Buddy and his job was to report back to Santa on how naught or nice I’ve been. Every night after we all go to bed, he sneaks out of the house and up to the North Pole and gives his report. Then, he races back to my house and hides in a new place for me to find him. The rules are that I can do or say whatever I want to Buddy, but he can’t talk back to me. So I can tell him what I want for Christmas or tell him stories, but he can’t respond in any way to me. I think he’s silly because he just sits there with a smile on his face. Mommy, daddy, and I try to make him laugh by dancing and shaking our booties at him, but so far he’s been a rock – no laughing or anything. Another rule is that no one can touch him because his magic will wear off and we don’t want his magic to wear off because then he couldn’t get back to the North Pole to tell Santa how good I’ve been. Hmmm, now if I decide to go to the dark side I’m going to have to get my hands on that little sucker. Oops, I shouldn’t have documented my evil plan….back to my inner angel.

Mommy and daddy think I am being super sweet because Buddy is around – always kissing them and telling them how much I love them and asking “please” – but I would say I’m like this all the time and they just don’t fully appreciate my efforts year-round. It doesn’t hurt that I also received an advent calendar from Santa one night. Every day up until Christmas, I get a little note from Santa on the calendar and if I was sweet to my parents, brushed my teeth, said my prayers, and all that other crap good little boys are suppose to do, then I can open a small gift under the tree. So far they have been great gifts – little activity books, craft-type things, stickers, etc.

Some might say this is a bribe to make me be a good little boy for one month of the year. I would argue that I’m just getting my due for the other 11 months of pure joy I bring to everyone else. I guess it’s all perspective. C’est la vie.

Here are some pics of Buddy and where he’s hidden so far or you can click on the link below to see his scrapbook. I’ll keep you posted on how the elf thing is working out in a few days.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and we are having a party at school where everyone gives me cards wanting me to be theirs and giving me candy. Part of what we have to do to prepare for the party is bring a bag for our Valentine’s Day treats. Daddy, mommy, and I decided to pimp my bag. As you can see below, we added some super hero bling to mine to hero it up a bit. Whatcha think?

Auld Lang Syne…Happy New Year…2011

So the another year has passed and a new one begun. Where does the time go??

So 2010 had quite a few firsts for me as I learn more about what our world has to offer and also had some great moments for my family and friends. I went on a cruise with the family to Mexico – the first time I’ve ever been out of the country. It was great spending so much time with the family experiencing something new.

My cousins Chrissy/Michael, Erin/Mark, and Bubba had life-changing years, too. Bubba graduated from college and is looking to begin his career in law enforcement. Erin & Mark had a baby girl named Lily and Chrissy & Michael also welcomed a little baby girl named Reese into the world.  These little girls will forever bring them joy and love…until they start dating, then the dads will just get headaches.

Something not so monumental, but a right of passage for a little boy nonetheless, I went to my first baseball game with my daddy and papa Kolias. We also went to Cowboy Stadium which is something ever Cowboy fan should do at some point.

2010 also marked the first time I had any accidents. I bumped my head pretty good on the tile and had a big knot to show for the fall. I also made a trip to the ER on Thanksgiving to get my tongue stitched up. If none of this never happens in 2011, I will be okay with that for sure. I guess whatever doesn’t kill me makes me stronger and keeps daddy & mommy on their toes.

Some of the more developmental milestones were writing my full name (upper case and lower case), counting to 200,  the 4-year old check up and getting 50 thousand shots, and then of course every little cute look or comment that would keep my folks laughing. I keep getting smarter, stronger, and bigger with each day. And my parents are amazed at the little person I am shaping up to be.

In all, 2010 has been my favorite year yet because of my family and friends. I know we will make 2011 even better – that’s my resolution.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
