Opa!

I’ve been meaning to get better about posting, but my schedule has been full and keeping me busy — 3rd grade is for real!

Anyway, some highlights from the last few weeks…I passed my Green Belt test in Taekwondo so I’m one step closer to being a lethal weapon. The test was harder because there was a lot more material to know, but Confucius says “the man who chases two rabbits catches none.” In other words, focus is key so that is what I did. I centered myself and calmed my nerves and performed like a high-kicking, board-breaking rock star!

Over the past couple of weeks I also got in touch with another side of my roots by going to the Greek Food Festival with daddy and grannie. This is the side my last name comes from, but we know very little about so we figured we could get caught up at a festival — yeah, not so much. But we did have some fun playing with sand. Opa!

And then here’s a couple of pics from when grannie came to have lunch with me for grandparent’s day and then GiGi and I tying to get some rest. The pic with grannie was sneaky on my part because she told me she wanted to take a selfie in my cafeteria and didn’t want me in it, but I photobombed with a big smile and showed her….hmmmm….I may have been played, nah! I’m sure she really came to have lunch with me hoping to get a selfie without me in the picture.

The Man-Date

Not a mandate as in order, but as in a bro date with my homie Andrew. We got together and hung out the other weekend. We played at my house, went to Jump Street (not 21 or 22), hit the driving range, and then topped it off by eating at Campisi’s (my fav). The day was perfect for us, but my Grannie and dad were exhausted – it must be no fun getting old like them. I mean they were ready to rest when Andrew had to leave and me, I was just bored. Oh well, I guess we’ll need to do it all over again.

Ball, tracks, is enough, and me…

What do all these have in common? If you throw an 8 in front of them, you have a classic….I’m 8 yrs old now, baby!!!

My birthday week is about to come to an end – yes, I said week because that’s how I roll. I get the run of my proverbial castle which means, presents, pizza, and just about any kind of junk food you can think of.

On the day of my actual birthday, I grabbed a couple of my friends and we went bowling and played video games all day. I’m not into cake so I’ve started the tradition of getting Campisi’s pizza loaded with so much Canadian bacon it looks like a pig sleeping on pizza dough.

After that, mommy, daddy, and I went to a cabin in Beaver’s Bend, OK for some rest and relaxation. It was a blast and we had some great quality time playing games, fishing, hiking around the area and shooting my new BB gun my dad bought me – he shot it more than I did – something about working out unfulfilled childhood dreams he was deprived of – I guess the BB gun was cheaper than a shrink, but he may want to consider springing for some therapy.

Anyway, it was a great week and I plan on making each following week better than the last.

Oops, I almost forgot

I forgot to mention my homie Andrew and I have been hanging out more. Below are some videos of us at Dave & Buster’s after school one day. Just think, one day he and I will be driving ourselves to D&B’s without dragging the parents along.

I’m registered

Black Friday…Cyber Monday/Week…Wednesday….whatever the day, there are only 28 days until Christmas so I thought I would make it easier on everyone who wants to shower me with gifts. I have registered at Toys-R-Us for toys I would like. You are more than welcome to go off script and buy whatever you think I’ll like, but there are no guarantees so shop elsewhere at your own risk.

And yes, I know Christmas is about more than gifts so rest assured I will also be spreading the love. But keep in mind I’m six so perspective is still skewed.

The link below, you will go to Toy-R-Us wish list. All  you need to do is enter my last name in the “Creator” box and shop until you can’t shop anymore.

WISH LIST FOR YOUR FAVORITE LITTLE BOY!

Galveston Day 8 – Coming Home

Well, vacation is officially over. There was one moment worth forgetting, but daddy won’t forget about that for 8 weeks. Everything else, was worth remembering and something I will cherish. Thank you to Shad, Tristin, Brandon, Kim, Tio, Grannie, Mommy, Daddy, and Galveston – all you guys rock. Be it a job or school, we are all headed back to reality. You guys allowed me to escape from reality for a week. We have got to do it again soon. Now, it’s time to go home….hit it Diddy

Back where I belong, yeah I never felt so strong
(I’m back baby)
I feel like there’s nothing that I can’t try
And if you with me put your hands high
(put your hands high)
If you ever lost a light before, this ones for you
And you, the dreams are for you……..I’m coming home, I’m coming home

Galveston Day 7 – HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

Even though Daddy hurt himself, the world continued to turn and days past so there was no stopping my birthday. That’s right, I’m no longer a little 5 year old – I’m the big 6!!

The first thing I did when I woke up was to stand up tall and see how much I grew. Then I ran through the beach house getting happy birthdays from everyone. I was like cool, but where are the presents. I had to wait a little while we set up the decor, but it was well worth the wait because I got so much stuff. I must be loved because the more you’re loved the more toys you get, right? Do my parents need to revisit that one with me? That actually may be me more imposing that rule on my parents rather than them teaching me that way. Whatever – I got lots of presents and that is what I am shooting for. I need to get the bumper sticker that read “The one that dies with the most toys wins” and put it on my motorized Jeep next to my vanity plate.

Galveston Day 6 – Time For A Break

The plan was to spend all day at the beach bumming around like we have been for the whole vacation, but daddy had other plans. He wanted to try and recapture his youth or show off for the youngsters, but here again there were different plans. Daddy did a good job laying out the board and jumping on the board, but he should have worked on the dismount because I’m sure breaking his leg was not the right way. Yep, daddy broke his leg (technically fractured) and spent about 6 hours in the ER. That kind of put a damper on the day, but at least it was toward the end of our vacation so we got in a lot of play time. It will be an interesting ride home because daddy is still in some pain, but mommy and I are taking care of him and making sure he is comfortable. I even told him I would get him anything he needed while his leg was broken – when he heals up it may be a different story.
