Let it snow, let it snow….

So the winter storm did hit after all and boy did it come down for a while. I think I am catching a little cold, but daddy and mommy didn’t have the heart to keep me inside and not let me play in it. I am so glad they did. I ran around in the snow, had a snowball fight with my daddy, and built a snowman. Now, I’m not saying I will be working at the Gaylord Texan ice exhibit next year or anything, but not too shabby for a Texas boy. Check it out….

This is me trying to look casual...

Ummm, how do we build a snowman again?

My masterpiece...next year ice scupltures

Enough dad - it's cold out here

Everybody’s Heard (Museum)

Since we were expecting a winter storm to roll in on Sunday, me and my folks decided to get out of the house and enjoy the day. We thought we would check out the Heard Natural Science Museum in McKinney, TX. A friend of my daddy’s told him about it the other day (shout out Christie). The whole reason we decided to go was because they had animatronic dinosaurs which is just a fancy way of saying dinosaur robots.

The museum itself isn’t really what I would consider a museum, but I guess I can’t think of anything else to call it really. It’s kind of like a zoo because they have some animals on exhibit, a butterfly garden, and hiking trails on the outside. Inside, they have a bug exhibit and dinosaur bones. Whatever you call it, I think it would probably be more fun in the spring or summer because some of the animals were not on display and the butterflies were not out because of the temperature. Nevertheless, the real reason we went there was to see the dinosaurs and they were pretty cool.

It wasn’t Jurassic Park or anything, but they did look pretty real when they would move and make sounds. I wouldn’t say I was scared of them because I knew they were not real, but I didn’t necessarily want to get too close – especially when they would make their dino sounds. But like I said…I ain’t skeered!

Anyway, my folks and I were glad we went. Not sure we will go back until we are sure everything is out and about because admission for adults is $9 and kids $6. That wouldn’t be a lot if you got everything and the dinosaurs. We will check back though during the holidays because it looks like they would have seasonal events.

Auld Lang Syne…Happy New Year…2011

So the another year has passed and a new one begun. Where does the time go??

So 2010 had quite a few firsts for me as I learn more about what our world has to offer and also had some great moments for my family and friends. I went on a cruise with the family to Mexico – the first time I’ve ever been out of the country. It was great spending so much time with the family experiencing something new.

My cousins Chrissy/Michael, Erin/Mark, and Bubba had life-changing years, too. Bubba graduated from college and is looking to begin his career in law enforcement. Erin & Mark had a baby girl named Lily and Chrissy & Michael also welcomed a little baby girl named Reese into the world.  These little girls will forever bring them joy and love…until they start dating, then the dads will just get headaches.

Something not so monumental, but a right of passage for a little boy nonetheless, I went to my first baseball game with my daddy and papa Kolias. We also went to Cowboy Stadium which is something ever Cowboy fan should do at some point.

2010 also marked the first time I had any accidents. I bumped my head pretty good on the tile and had a big knot to show for the fall. I also made a trip to the ER on Thanksgiving to get my tongue stitched up. If none of this never happens in 2011, I will be okay with that for sure. I guess whatever doesn’t kill me makes me stronger and keeps daddy & mommy on their toes.

Some of the more developmental milestones were writing my full name (upper case and lower case), counting to 200,  the 4-year old check up and getting 50 thousand shots, and then of course every little cute look or comment that would keep my folks laughing. I keep getting smarter, stronger, and bigger with each day. And my parents are amazed at the little person I am shaping up to be.

In all, 2010 has been my favorite year yet because of my family and friends. I know we will make 2011 even better – that’s my resolution.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

NYE

This is my mommy and her best friend Kelly last night at Tio and Kim’s party. Can you tell which picture was taken at the beginning of the night and then at the end of the night?
