Don’t call it a comeback…

I’ve been around, but it has been less than healthy. First, my daddy got the flu. Technically, he tested negative for the swine, but the doctor overruled the test and treated him for it anyway so if it oinks like swine and walks like a swine….I’m just saying. Then, I got sick. Mine was definitely not the swine flu. Mine was just a cold, but it still wiped me out and had me out of school Tuesday through Friday. Then my mommy got sick. She had a cold like me, but had to miss work for two days b/c she had a fever and they can’t have that at the hospital.

Anyway, today was the first day we all kind of got out in over a week. We went to the Fort Worth Alliance Air Show. It was pretty cool. We got to see a lot of military and trick planes. They were doing some tricks where they rolled, flipped, and smoked. There were also several people who jumped out of the plane and did some stunts. There was also a Jelly Belly plane that did some tricks. Overall, it was pretty cool. I think I will enjoy the show a little more when I get a year or two older, but I am glad we went.

Grannie came with us and should be sending some pics from the day. I will upload those when I get them. And I promise I won’t stay away so long from this point on.

500+

Wow! I have had over 500 hits on my blog. Probably not a lot for some, but sure is a lot for a 3-year old. I guess my grannie was pretty busy viewing my blog – she probably should get back to work. Thank you to all and there will be a lot more from me b/c I have a lot to share.

It’s not Thanksgiving yet, but…

….I have plenty to be thankful for today.

1) My nanny successfully underwent open heart surgery – triple bypass. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Paul Hospital for keeping my nanny safe. It is a long road for recovery, but at least she is here to do it.

2) I am thankful for my health. Daddy was telling me about Kidd’s Kids. They take terminally ill children to Disney Land each year. My daddy was listening to some of the letters from other daddies writing about their children and he told me he had to fight back tears b/c he doesn’t know how parents can go through such a thing. He told me he hopes him and mommy never have to worry about dealing with that situation. He told me they are extremely fortunate and thankful for my health. That makes me thankful, too – one of the many reasons why I am. What’s your reason?

Fly away…

Sorry it has been a while since my last post. Kind of crazy around here lately – I’ll get into that at a later date. But my mommy, daddy, grannie, and I had a great day Saturday. We grabbed some breakfast out. It wasn’t the Waffle House, as we all know I love to eat there with my daddy, but it was pretty good. Mommy says she doesn’t like the Waffle House like daddy and I do, but daddy says that’s because she is a girl and Waffle House is a guy thing. Anyway, after eating we went to the Cavanaugh Flight Museum at the Addison airport. I’ve been there before, but there is nothing cooler than being able to see old time planes up close. This time we even got to walk through a real B-24 plane. This is one of only two operational B-24s in the US and available for actual flights around the metroplex. Anyway that was pretty cool. Sure a lot different than the planes I’ve been on in the past. There were no frills whatsoever. Makes you appreciate what our servicemen and women have done for our country even that much more.

Below is a pic of me in the cockpit of the B-24. I was ready to takeoff and fly away.

Are you ready for some football?!

Sunday – 9/13/09 – Daddy said this is one of the greatest days in a guy’s life. He told me a day like this happens every year so I will experience this joy every year. When I asked what was so special, he said that it was time for some football – the NFL season begins. He said that the only responsibility a guy has on this day is to sit on the couch and switch back and forth through all the games on TV. So that’s what we did. The best part of course was when the Dallas Cowboys beat the Tampa Bay Bucs. We rule – Superbowl, baby! The best thing is that daddy said we get to do this every Sunday and sometimes Monday from now until January. Sorry, mommy, but Sundays are for guys. I love being a guy!!

Can you dig it?

Here I am on my latest dig. I found a few bones and had a good time. That is official “digging” attire I have on. I know I look good, but I started thinking I need a cool name for my expeditions. I am thinking of going with a state like Indiana Jones, but I need some help. I have ties to 2 states – the great state of TEXAS and Georgia. I would prefer to have a tie into TEXAS than Georgia, but not sure what would work with any of my names like Minnesota – Minnesota Fats and California – California Kid (Uriah Faber among others).

I’m going to start thinking of a good one. If you have any ideas, let me know.

Me, daddy, Dino

This is the dinosaur I thought was so cool. BTW – that’s my daddy. For some reason he closes his eyes when he smiles – weird.

They blinded me with science

On Labor Day, my mommy had to work so daddy and grannie took me to the Museum of Nature & Science at Fair Park. My daddy tried to sell me on the fact that Science was interesting, blah, blah, blah….I have to admit it was pretty cool. I think the fun started when grannie and daddy had me pretend I was only 2 years old again. They kept telling me not to say I was 3 or say too much and that I needed to squat down so I was shorter than I am. That was pretty fun. Daddy told me I saved him $5 that day. Wonder what my cut will be.

Anyway, one of the first things I saw when I got into the museum was a skeleton of a dinosaur – T-Rex to be exact. It was huge! So cool. Then I got to play in a big sand box and look for dinosaur bones. I found them, but they were too heavy to lift so I left them there for next time. We also go to see some cool exhibits on electricity, wind, earthquakes, etc. There was also a floor that allowed me and a bunch of other kids my age to play and learn. Pretty cool concept.

Afterward, we tried to go see the dinosaur IMAX movie, but it doesn’t start until the State Fair starts so we’ll have to go back.

Picture to follow….
