…the kite that is, of course. My daddy and I went over to visit pawpaw and grandma Kolias and they got me a huge kite for Christmas. It is so cool. We went to the park and flew the kite. In one of the videos you will see a glimpse of it at the end. Anyway, I think I did pretty good for my first time. Daddy told me that when he was little, grannie would take him to fly a kite and make him wear mittens so he didn’t get his hands burned by the string. That was a different day I guess b/c I’m not sure how that would happen now. He also told me that when he was around 6 years old he was flying the kite and accidentally let it go. He said him and grannie finally tracked it down to some homeowner’s yard…er..tree that is. Check me out….(Oh, and BTW this is where daddy gets his height from.)
One of the cool things about Christmas this year was that there was snow on the ground for the first time since I’ve been alive and I heard it was the first time it snowed on Christmas Eve/Christmas in 80 years. Anyway, Christmas evening pawpaw Dupree and grandma Dupree came over to bring me presents – that makes anyone welcome. They got me a cool castle and helmet to make funny voices with. The real fun though came when pawpaw Dupree and I were outside throwing snowballs. The snow was pretty much all gone, but there was some still left in the shade. My hands were so cold that I had to put gloves on. The only problem was though, I could only find yellow plastic gloves. I told daddy he needed to buy me mittens. Anyway, here you go….(Oh, and BTW this is where I get my height from.)
Christmas is here! I thought I would let the folks sleep in until around 8a. When I came downstairs, mommy was already awake and the first thing I saw was that Santa had been here and left me presents. It was one of the prettiest sights I’ve seen – presents galore for me! I wanted to open them, but I had to rush in a wake up daddy and scream for grannie to wake up to b/c she spent the night with us. Once I had everyone in the house awake, it was time to get down to business. The video is below is a little of what went on. We have about 30 videos from the morning that daddy recorded on his new Flip video camera. Check it out!
…and I’m still stirring about. It is late and I am still up. I am waiting on Santa. I have been watching my own Rudolph marathon.
The day started off great today. My daddy and I went to get some donuts in the morning because my mom had to work at the hospital this morning and dad said it was easier than cooking. From there we tried to go to the store, but it started to sleet so we went home. As the day progressed, it started to snow. My daddy, grannie, and I played in the snow later. It was cold, but so fun.
Anyway, tomorrow is CHRISTMAS and I have been a good boy so bring it on fat man….here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus….
Today is my mommy’s birthday. She told me she is 24 today. It’s kind of weird because I could have sworn she was 24 last year, but I was only two then so mommy says I was probably confused before. I’m not sure I buy that so I am going to write this down somewhere so next year I can see if the math adds up. Anyway, it is a great day today.
I had my first Christmas of the year at my nanny’s house Sunday. A lot of my family was there so that was cool – always good to see my aunts (great aunt included), uncles, cousins, and of course my grandmas. I got a lot of cool things. My daddy and I put together my big wheel that nanny gave me.
I have a few more time to celebrate Christmas with the rest of my family. Keep you posted.
That was a flashback to the 80s for all you old enough to remember the Go-Gos.
I am on vacation for the week. That means no school, going to bed late, sleeping late, eating whatever….well, maybe not since the parents are still around. I may be able to manage staying up late, but I think I will get up at the same early time as usual just so I have more day. I am going to love being off with mommy and daddy – we are going to be so busy.
