Vacation….All I ever wanted…

Shout out to the Go-Go’s because I’m on vacation ALL WEEK! That’s right – no getting up early, no taking a nap on their schedule, no teachers, no sharing with other kids – this week is on my terms. That is of course as long as it jives with what my parents want or at least that is what they think.

This week is Thanksgiving and I know I have plenty to be thankful for. I’m healthy which my folks say is all they ever prayed for when I was born and they say they continue to be thankful and hopeful that I will live a long, healthy, and productive life. I am also thankful that I have a nice home, loving family and friends, and opportunities so many do not have. My folks tell me that these opportunities should not be wasted or taken for granted. That sounds fair, but this week I’m on vacation.

P-out!

@ the movies

So Saturday, mommy had a baby shower to go to for my cousin Chrissy who is having a baby girl named Reese. Mommy said Chrissy looks cute with a baby in her belly.  Funny though – mommy said she thinks of Reese Witherspoon when she hears the name and daddy thinks of the guy from The Terminator (Kyle Reese – John’s father) – either way, it is a cool name.

So while mommy was doing  that, daddy and I decided to go catch a movie. We thought about Paranormal Activity 2, but daddy would have been up all night with nightmares so we decided on Megamind 3D. I think I have decided that 3D is cool for a little while, but it gets kind of old wearing the glasses so I took mine off midway through the movie. It was blurry and all, but I was more comfortable.  So from now on, no more 3D – at least until I get a little older.

Anyway, the movie was good. I’m sure it had some deep meaning about how you can be whatever you want to be and can change if you choose to, but bottom line was Will Ferrell was funny as Megamind and daddy’s man crush was in the movie, too – Brad Pitt. I would definitely recommend the movie and will probably try to talk daddy and mommy into buying the movie for me when it comes out on DVD.

The best part of going to the movies was sneaking candy in. The picture below shows me being sly by putting the little Skittles bag into my pocket. I think I was pretty cool and calm the whole way. No one knew I was smuggling the Skittles in. I looked natural and acted like I had been there before. Now, daddy has a different opinion. He says I couldn’t have been more obvious and that I walked kind of hunched over with my hand on the outside of my pocket like I was hiding something. Either way, the popo didn’t get me so I must have done something right.

Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto

I almost forgot to tell you I was introduced to STROBE LIGHTS!! And they rock. My folks got one for Halloween and I couldn’t get enough of it. I was getting my groove on and bustin’ out my robot…..did my battery run down???….wind me up….now I’m poppin’. And don’t be fooled just because the video below is just of me – mommy and daddy joined in the fun, too. I didn’t know mommy could pop like that and can she throw down a mean worm or what. When we’re all at home, we turn off the lights and the rave begins…where my glow sticks at?

Peppy Parker picked a perfect pumpkin

Since mom had to work the other night, I told her I would keep daddy out of the house so she could get some rest.  I decided to take daddy to the Owens Big Orange Pumpkin Farm. I figured we could feed some goats, go on a hayride, pick some pumpkins, and overall enjoy the day together. I was right – it was a good day. We got to see horses, donkeys, chickens, and even got to feed some little billy goats – they sure were hungry. They were pushing each other out of the way to get them some oats.

Daddy and I also got to ride on a hayride which I’ve never done before, but I have to admit was kind of cool. Daddy said that if I sweet talked papa Dupree, he may make fix his tractor so that it was a hayride – I might have to be real nice to him. We also rode on a train made of barrels. Dad said he wasn’t quite sure how he got his rear end into the barrel and really wasn’t sure how he got it out of the barrel. Funny how there are no pics of that, huh.

It’s the great pumpkin…

First thing first….I’m from Texas so I say pumkin – no second “p” – when I talk about those round orange things you make pie out of and carve for Halloween, but I will spell it correctly here for everyone else.

This weekend was a gorgeous weekend to be out and about. Grannie heard of an event Calloway Nursery was doing for kids so daddy and mommy decided to take me there. I got to design my own pumpkin. I didn’t carve it because my knife skills aren’t all that sharp these days, but I did get to glue stuff to the pumpkin and also color on it. It was all free so pretty cool.

The pics below are just me goofing around at the place. There were a couple of areas with a lot of pumpkins to pose with, but the lighting wasn’t great. That’s okay because I heard mommy telling daddy that we were going to go to the Dallas Arboretum to get some good pics and have fun – woohoo!

Hard at work...

My work is complete...Meet Mr. Goofy

We had to take a break...

Where's Waldo?

Take me out to the ball game…

Today was a first for me. Daddy, papa Kolias, and I went to my first baseball game – the Frisco Roughriders. And while we had pretty good seats, I was excited to use my new binoculars that papa gave me. It was pretty hot so we didn’t stay too long, but we had a good time and ate some hot dogs and peanuts. I tell ya, that Harry Caray guy may have been on to something when he use to sing “Take me out to the ball game” all the time.

And you know what, doing guy stuff is pretty cool and doing them with daddy is even better. I’m trying to get him to take me to the Cowboys, but that may be a little ways off. He may want to wait until he is sure I would stay through the whole game before dishing out all that cash first.

She was just 17…

Happy birthday to my cousin Katelyn. She is 17 today. Mommy always says she remembers when she use to change Katelyn’s diapers…..I guess that is what I have to look forward to when I turn 17…..I remember when I use to change your diapers, Parker.

When dinosaurs attack

Papa and grandma Dupree came by to bring me some early birthday gifts on Sunday. I knew they were coming, but I had no clue what they were going to bring me. My mind was racing….could it be a firetruck….a Spiderman….Superman….the anticipation was killing me. Then the doorbell rang and the moment of truth was upon me…..Woody, Jessie, and Rex!!!! I couldn’t believe my eyes.

Papa and I were playing with them and then Rex turned on Woody. The picture below show what happens when dinosaurs attack. (Don’t worry, we all talked it out and Rex and Woody are cool again.)
