I am so proud of Tio…..

2009 review & 2010 resolution

There is a lot to say on this one so it will be long. Let’s see, where to begin….January I started daycare for the first time after spending the first 2 years and 4 months of my life with my mommy during the day. This was a total shock to my world. I knew my folks still loved me, but wasn’t sure why they were leaving me with strangers every day. They kept telling me to play and the teachers were always telling me to play, but my play was at home with my stuff – not with stuff others had in their mouths. It took me a couple of weeks before I came to terms that I was going to school every day, but I didn’t like it. It took probably another 3 months before I started to open up at school. And another 3 months before I started to seem like I wanted to go to school. Now, I’m good with the whole school thing b/c I have some honeys & homies to keep me company.

Somewhere around June or July, I started to really get the hang of the whole potty thing. This was pretty cool b/c that meant I got to move to a higher class. This is where I really started to come out of my shell. Ms. Stephanie and Ms. Jessica were my teachers that really got me enjoying school. It didn’t hurt that they spoiled and bribed me – yeah, I’m easy…what of it?

In August, I turned 3 years old. Mommy and daddy say that time is flying by and that they still remember when all I could say was “dada” and “mama.” I throw one of those out there for them every now and then and we all have a big laugh. I turn 4 this year and will be posting my birthday wish list in plenty of time for you guys to save up and shop for me.

In October, nanny underwent successful triple bypass surgery. It was kind of a scary time for us all, but she is doing well and we are thankful for that.

This past Christmas is really the first time I realized fully what the commercial Christmas was about. It was pretty cool. Daddy and mommy also started telling me what the religious Christmas was all about. I’m still trying to grasp that, but my folks say it is a lifelong journey and that I will continue to learn as I go. Cool.

Overall, it has been a great year and I have lots to be thankful for. My daddy always tells me about a man with no feet – I think that is his long-winded way of saying there are a lot of people that are not as fortunate as we are and to be appreciative of what I have. I am thankful for everyone’s health – nanny’s successful surgery, grannie’s 6 years of cancer-free living, and everyone else. Take care of yourselves so I have more time with you.

This year I resolve to work on my patience and frustration levels which will be a lot easier if everyone would just do what I say when I say to – wish me luck.

I hope you have enjoyed my blog this past year. I sure did enjoy sharing my exploits with you. I’m continually growing and learning more and a lot has to do with my experiences with you guys.

I’m excited to see what 2010 brings for us all so stay tuned to my blog b/c I will share with you what I know.

Love, peace, and soul (shout out Don Cornelius)

High as a kite…

…the kite that is, of course. My daddy and I went over to visit  pawpaw and grandma Kolias and they got me a huge kite for Christmas. It is so cool. We went to the park and flew the kite. In one of the videos you will see a glimpse of it at the end. Anyway, I think I did pretty good for my first time. Daddy told me that when he was little, grannie would take him to fly a kite and make him wear mittens so he didn’t get his hands burned by the string. That was a different day I guess b/c I’m not sure how that would happen now. He also told me that when he was around 6 years old he was flying the kite and accidentally let it go. He said him and grannie finally tracked it down to some homeowner’s yard…er..tree that is. Check me out….(Oh, and BTW this is where daddy gets his height from.)

Dreaming of a white Christmas

One of the cool things about Christmas this year was that there was snow on the ground for the first time since I’ve been alive and I heard it was the first time it snowed on Christmas Eve/Christmas in 80 years. Anyway, Christmas evening pawpaw Dupree and grandma Dupree came over to bring me presents – that makes anyone welcome. They got me a cool castle and helmet to make funny voices with. The real fun though came when pawpaw Dupree and I were outside throwing snowballs. The snow was pretty much all gone, but there was some still left in the shade. My hands were so cold that I had to put gloves on. The only problem was though, I could only find yellow plastic gloves. I told daddy he needed to buy me mittens. Anyway, here you go….(Oh, and BTW this is where I get my height from.)

CHRISTMAS!

Christmas is here! I thought I would let the folks sleep in until around 8a. When I came downstairs, mommy was already awake and the first thing I saw was that Santa had been here and left me presents. It was one of the prettiest sights I’ve seen – presents galore for me! I wanted to open them, but I had to rush in a wake up daddy and scream for grannie to wake up to b/c she spent the night with us. Once I had everyone in the house awake, it was time to get down to business. The video is below is a little of what went on. We have about 30 videos from the morning that daddy recorded on his new Flip video camera. Check it out!

’twas the night before Christmas…

…and I’m still stirring about. It is late and I am still up. I am waiting on Santa. I have been watching my own Rudolph marathon.

The day started off great today. My daddy and I went to get some donuts in the morning because my mom had to work at the hospital this morning and dad said it was easier than cooking. From there we tried to go to the store, but it started to sleet so we went home. As the day progressed, it started to snow. My daddy, grannie, and I played in the snow later. It was cold, but so fun.

Anyway, tomorrow is CHRISTMAS and I have been a good boy so bring it on fat man….here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus….

Mommy’s Birthday

Today is my mommy’s birthday. She told me she is 24 today. It’s kind of weird because I could have sworn she was 24 last year, but I was only two then so mommy says I was probably confused before. I’m not sure I buy that so I am going to write this down somewhere so next year I can see if the math adds up. Anyway, it is a great day today.

P-out!

Attention grandparents

I didn’t make this story up, but if you need to know how to spell my name correctly let me know…..hahaha.
