PaKo Productions presents….

This is what I mentioned the other day that has been keeping me busy – directing Angry Bird action films. I aspire to to be the G-rated Quentin Tarantino and I draw on inspiration from the likes of taat2d, angrybirds12birds and can only hope to get sponsored like superugly18 who is huge in the Plush Toy YouTube genre.

Hula Baby

Problem: It became clear to me that I was the only one in my class who didn’t know how to Hula Hoop – I wasn’t even sure if you spelled it hoola or hula for that matter. So I talked it over with my folks and we came to the conclusion that they were falling down on their duties as parents and never taught me how to hula or even bought me Hula Hoop. Of course, their defense was that we no longer live in the 50’s, but they should know the Hula Hoop is timeless.

Solution: Grannie heard I couldn’t hula and didn’t have a hoop so she rushed to the toy store and bought me one. We made it our mission to get my hula on and that’s just what we did….

Catch up

It’s been a while so sorry to disappoint – I have been busy learning and getting use to my new school. I have also been busy with another project I will tell you about in a few.

So about school, everything has been pretty cool. I love music, art, and PE the best. PE is actually a lot like Stretch-n-Grow that I refused to do for 3 years at my old school. I may have been wrong about that, but I will never admit it to anyone. I’m learning some of the same stuff I did at my old school, but I am getting even better at it so it’s all good. I do color in the lines a lot better now. Daddy does tell me that it’s okay to color out of the lines every now and then or when I get inspired then he started spouting off names like Picasso, Matisse, Pollock, and so on. He says it will make a lot more sense when I get older so I will just have to trust him on that one.

My teachers and classmates are pretty cool other than the two girls at my table who keep taking my crayons. They make me pretty mad when they do that. Mommy and daddy want to get involved, but they know I have to figure out how to handle this situation on my own so I develop those people/negotiation/coping skills. Other than that, they are actually pretty cool and every now and then, we walk to the office together to return stuff. I also walk to my class by myself now – mommy and daddy can’t walk past a certain point now so I have to do it on my own. It isn’t the best walk, but not so bad – haven’t got lost yet.

The other day was one of the best days at school because we had Spirit Day. It’s kind of like a pep rally from what my parents say, but without the sports teams. Below is a video from the rally.

Back to School

So today was my first day in big kid public school. If you recall, I was a “redshirted” kindergartener so I may be a little more mature than some of the other kids, but I was still nervous about the first day because I didn’t know anyone or what to expect. All I could do is remember I am a brave big boy and focus on the new experiences I was in store for. Turns out, it was all pretty cool.

First, I had to wake up super early to make sure I was on time to school. This is something I haven’t had to do in over 3 months so I was dragging a bit. Next, mommy and daddy walked me to school. Actually, mommy walked and daddy scooted along on his roll-about because of his broken leg. It  was kind of funny looking, but he didn’t want to miss out on my first day so he didn’t care about looking foolish.

When we finally got to school, it was like a scene out of Grease 2 (not as good as Grease 1, but still awesome) – music blaring from large speakers, chatter from all the kids and parents, people flocking to the doors, teachers corralling the kids, and we even had a flag raising – a lot of stimuli for sure. The school was full of parents dropping their kids off, especially my room since we were all Kindergarteners. There were a lot hugs and kisses, but not too many tears – none with me or my folks – I stayed strong for them since they are kinda sad I’m growing up.

Anyway, I put my backpack up, lunch up, snack up, and plopped right down at my table were I was joined by two honeys – Danni and Juliette. The bell rang and school was officially back in session. The first day was a lot of learning how things were going to work and I think I have it down, but there are times when it changes, e.g., we have Music on Mondays, PE on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Art on Thursdays. I really enjoyed music. I can’t wait until I get to play some of the instruments. I already told mommy and daddy I wanted to play the tuba so they better get ready.

The day kind of flew by and before I knew it, mommy was there to walk me home. I think I am going to dig this big kid school thing after all.

School is in Session

For the first time in about 90 days, tonight is a school night. Yep, that’s right – school starts tomorrow. New school, new teachers, new friends to teach the ropes on how to handle me. It is always worth it when I get them to understand, but the process is long and some are just slower to come around.

Anyway, I’m nervous and excited at the same time. I’m nervous about everything being new and me not knowing what to do. I’m excited about being in a big school with a lot of people and learning so much. Mommy and daddy tell me to focus on what I’m excited about and that will be enough to keep me pumped and eager to learn – we’ll see.

A couple of cool things about going back to school is that I got a whole bunch of new clothes, new shoes, and I got to go to Waffle House today. Not so cool is that I had to get my hair did – that’s how mommy and daddy say hair cut. I sure hope their not teaching me the wrong way like they did with me calling the police the po-po – so glad that got corrected.

So tomorrow mommy and daddy will walk me to my class and take a bunch of pictures. I stay there for about 7 hours and then they pick me up and quiz me about everything that happened the whole day. Fortunately, they get to walk me to class every day for the first week, but the second week on they only get to walk me to a certain point and then it is up to me to find my way. I’ve got a pretty good memory so I’m not  too concerned with that, but it will be a little intimidating with so many kids.

Wish me luck!

Not liking this one bit, but really don’t like daddy taking pics and making faces

Aced It

Today I had to go to my Kindergartner screening at my new school. I was real nervous to the point I couldn’t think straight. Mommy and daddy kept telling me there was no wrong answer, but I just can’t wrap my mind around that – if it’s not the right answer, then it is wrong as far as I am concerned. Anyway, I used the “shield” daddy and mommy bought me to help take away some of my nervousness – kept it in my pocket. It worked because when I walked away with my teacher and left my parents in the cafeteria, I remained calm and answered all the questions my teacher asked me – and I answered them correctly!

I was real proud of myself for being brave. Mommy and daddy were too so they bought me a school shirt to show my pride. Now, all that remains is for me to find out who my teacher will be – hope it is the one I had today because she was sweet to me – that is all that really matters.

I got spirit, how ’bout you

Galveston Day 8 – Coming Home

Well, vacation is officially over. There was one moment worth forgetting, but daddy won’t forget about that for 8 weeks. Everything else, was worth remembering and something I will cherish. Thank you to Shad, Tristin, Brandon, Kim, Tio, Grannie, Mommy, Daddy, and Galveston – all you guys rock. Be it a job or school, we are all headed back to reality. You guys allowed me to escape from reality for a week. We have got to do it again soon. Now, it’s time to go home….hit it Diddy

Back where I belong, yeah I never felt so strong
(I’m back baby)
I feel like there’s nothing that I can’t try
And if you with me put your hands high
(put your hands high)
If you ever lost a light before, this ones for you
And you, the dreams are for you……..I’m coming home, I’m coming home

Galveston Day 7 – HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

Even though Daddy hurt himself, the world continued to turn and days past so there was no stopping my birthday. That’s right, I’m no longer a little 5 year old – I’m the big 6!!

The first thing I did when I woke up was to stand up tall and see how much I grew. Then I ran through the beach house getting happy birthdays from everyone. I was like cool, but where are the presents. I had to wait a little while we set up the decor, but it was well worth the wait because I got so much stuff. I must be loved because the more you’re loved the more toys you get, right? Do my parents need to revisit that one with me? That actually may be me more imposing that rule on my parents rather than them teaching me that way. Whatever – I got lots of presents and that is what I am shooting for. I need to get the bumper sticker that read “The one that dies with the most toys wins” and put it on my motorized Jeep next to my vanity plate.
